About Our New Jersey Optometrist
Raised in Wayne, New Jersey, Dr. Mazie has always had strong ties to the community he now serves. He graduated with honors from the University of Virginia before earning both his Doctor of Optometry and Master’s in Visual Science from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia.
During his training, Dr. Mazie completed externships with top contact lens specialists across the country and studied internationally at the Sheba Eye Institute in Tel Hashomer, Israel, where he expanded his knowledge in ocular disease and complex cases.

Since founding New Jersey Eyes in 2005, Dr. Mazie has built a practice known for its continuity, compassion, and personal attention. He believes in treating patients like people, and his calm, thorough style puts even the most anxious patients at ease.
From managing long-term conditions like glaucoma or dry eye to helping a child pick out their first pair of glasses, Dr. Mazie brings genuine care and clinical precision to every eye exam.

When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Mazie enjoys skiing, golf, music, travel, and spending time with his wife and two children.
